Using the Quick Search Box
The quick search box is a stand-alone search that ignores all of the user preferences outside of the quick search box. It is intended for those who know specifically what they are looking for and provides a method to quickly access that information. Clicking on "Quick Search" or pressing "Enter" after entering data in either of these boxes will replace any current search results. Only one quick search field will be searched, giving priority to the highest field first. (i.e. If a value is entered in the "Program Title" field and in the "Presenter" or "Free Text" fields, the bottom two fields will be ignored.)
- Find By Program Title: Search program titles only for specified search string. (A search for "awards" will return all programs with the word "awards" in the title.)
- Find By Presenter Last Name: Search last names of coordinating and additional presenters for a match starting with search string.
- Free Text Search: Search title and program abstract for search string.
Using the Advanced Search Features
All search criteria outside of the quick search box are part of the advanced search functionality. Searches performed with these fields are independent of the quick search options. Clicking on any of the advanced search features will immediately update your search results based on your criteria and will replace any quick search results that may be displayed. Each of the categories of the advanced search fields work together to fine tune your search results. The more items you click the fewer results you will receive as fewer programs will meet all of the criteria you have selected. The exception to this is "Program Type" which will display all program types that you have selected that meet your other criteria. Any categories not selected will not be included in search criteria excluding "Program Type" which by default searches all program types.
- Updates / Cancelations Only: Will display updates and cancelations not reflected in the printed program book.
- Professional Competencies & Critical Issues: Each program may have up to two items selected.
- Keywords: Each program may have up to two keywords selected.
- Target Audience: The intended audience for a presentation. If a program does not have a specific target audience then those programs will not display if a specific target audience is selected other than "Any" or leaving this option blank.
- Program Type: Select as many program types as you wish to search. Results returned will be displayed only for those program types selected. If no program type is selected than all program types will be searched.
- CEUs: Search for programs offering CEUs.
- Filter By Day: By selecting one or more days you will only see results for those days selected. Leaving this blank will display results for all days.
